Here I will teach you about 3dsmax checker bump effect tutorial
I have used following techniques in this 3ds max tutorial.
Checker Material and Bump Effect

[1]-Now click on the Geometry > Standard primitives and Using the following Setting
Create a Teapot in the top view

[2]-Click on modifier window and applying (Shell) & (Turbo Smooth) modifier and use the following setting

[3]-Your image should be like this in the front & perspective image as shown below

[4]-Now press (M) you will see the material window is open and click on the diffuse map button
And open the Checker parameters
Use the following Setting image as shown below

[5]-And select the Checker material in the default maps

[6]-And open the Checker parameters Use the following Setting image as shown below

[7]-Open the Shader basic parameter and Select Translucent Shader
