Here I will teach you about 3dsmax mental ray barstool model tutorial
I have used following techniques in this 3ds max tutorial.
Spline Modeling and Mentalray Effect Material

[1]-First of all you will press (ctrl+N) now you will see the new window is open
Now press (F10) u will see the Render window is open
Then open the Assign render (palate) click on the (Production) Select (Mental Ray Renderer)

[2]-Now click on the Shape > Spline creates a shape like this with the help of (line tool) in the front view

[3]-Select the object apply (Lathe) (Turbo Smooth) and (shell) Modifier in the Modifier window use the following setting

[4]-your image should be like this in the perspective view image as shown below

[5]-Now click on the Standard Primitives > cylinder use the following setting creates a cylinder like this in the front view
And apply (Turbo Smooth) Modifier in the Modifier window use the following setting

[6]-your image should be like this in the perspective view image as shown below

[7]-Now click on the Standard Primitives > Plane and use the following setting creates a Plane

[9]-Now press the button (M) you will see the material window is open
Click on the (Standard) Button and select the (Architectural) in the material/maps Browser
Then select the (Metal) in the templates and Put the stool map in the diffuse map
This material assign to the Stool

[10]-Use the following again makes a material like image as shown below this material assign to the Plane

[11]-After use the following setting now you will see the final image is ready
Press (f9) to see the preview of the image
